What is Numerology? |
It is a science (knowledge) used by God and given to man for divining information through the use of numbers (characters) in the birth name and date to convey potentiality about life and is considered by some scholars to be the forerunner to modern day astrology. This is very evident in these prominent name changes. A person who practices Numerology is called a numerologist. |
Who gave rise to Numerology? |
Many attribute the rise to the science of Numerology to Pythagoras. Pythagoras was a mathematician, philosopher and theorist who was born in the sixth century BCE and in his search for truth went to Egypt where he studied. He is also reported to have studied with Zoroaster (the Persian, Iraqi/Iranian today, sage who was founder of the widely renowned wisdom of the Magi) and to have learned the Kabbalah in Judea (Israel). The science of numbers he eventually taught was based on Kabbalistic principles. |
Pythagoras efforts are to be applauded because he played a very major role but this premise is not to be accepted as the only accuracy since he went to Egypt searching for truth. As students of history, we will utilize one of the more important historical books (The Holy Bible) because of its longevity and attribute the Egyptians as the true people who gave rise to the science of Numerology by way of the Hebrew and Babylonian people. |

Please understand this website is an education and guided independent research platform and the reference source that we utilized could be totally different from what you may have chosen. Perform your own due diligence using whatever tool or method you prefer. Nonetheless, we will go forward explaining in detail (using a source reference of our choice) why we believe this assertion is true. |
In Isaiah 19:25 the Bible clearly states that the Egyptians are God's native people, the Assyrians the work of his hands, and Israel his inheritance. We just read your mind and heard you state, "where are we going". It does not matter where we are going. Just realize that we are going to take a scenic route but nonetheless we are going to arrive. |
It has now been established that the Egyptians are God's native people. Placing the rise to the science of Numerology to the Egyptians is the next logical step. Acts 7:22 states "And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and deeds." Students of the Bible believe that Moses is attributed as the author of the Pentateuch (First Five Books of the Bible or the entirety of Judaism's founding legal and ethical religious texts). It is further believed that Moses delivered the Hebrew peoples in Egypt out of slavery and bondage into freedom in the land of Canaan. |
The Pentateuch at the minimal include Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. In the fourth book of the Pentateuch (Numbers) chapter 1 and verse 2, Moses write "Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls." We find Moses utilizing this knowledge directly in Numbers 13:16 where it is stated "These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun, Jehoshua (Joshua or Jesus)." This same Joshua (Jesus) was later commissioned by God to actually lead the Hebrew people into freedom in the land of Canaan according to Deuteronomy 3:28. |
From the above, it has now been established that the Egyptians are God's native people and the deliverer of the Hebrew people (Moses) utilized numerology according to Numbers 1:2 and 13:16. Now it must be established how this knowledge was delivered to the rest of the world by these people. In Deuteronomy 30:11-14, Moses gave to the Hebrew people all the wisdom of Egypt along with the hidden meaning of numbers and letters. Deuteronomy 30:11-14 states, "For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, nor is it far off. It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it." |
The Hebrews gave this esoteric Egyptian knowledge handed down from Moses to the rest of the world via what we know as the Kabbalah. This is very evident when you thoroughly review the meaning of Psalm 119 which is the longest chapter in the Bible found right next to the center (Psalm 118) and shortest (Psalm 117) chapters. It is interesting that there is exactly 1189 chapters in the Bible. 594 to the left of Psalm 118 and 594 to the right of Psalm 118. Psalm 118:22 that is found in the center of the Garden (Bible) states "The stone which the builders refused Is become the head stone of the corner." |
It is known from Isaiah 19:25 that the Assyrians are the work of God's hands. The Assyrians (who were the Babylonians) were located in what is known to the world as Iraq today but in earlier times as Babel. Genesis 10:8-10 states "And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter (ruler) before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter (ruler) before the Lord. And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar." |
The Babylonians are important in this fact because of Genesis 11:6-9 that states "And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore, is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth." This clearly establishes that the Babylonians gave this esoteric Egyptian knowledge to all the other nations (except the Hebrew people of the world who gave to us the Kabbalah). |
What is the importance of Numerology other than what it was stated above to address? |
It has been established above that Moses is attributed as the author of the Pentateuch and that he himself used numerology. This is important but let us examine Moses choice of words in Numbers 13:16 where it is stated "These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun, Jehoshua (Joshua or Jesus)." We are going to focus on the word called. In Genesis 2:19 it is stated "Now the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof." Here we have established through two different passages the importance of the word call because whatever you call something that is the name thereof. |
Now we are going to focus on the word name. According to the dictionary, name means an arbitrary appellation received in the language of intellect describing a mental image or thought picture; to give character. It should be understood now that the name attributed to something is the character thereof. This is seen throughout the Bible in the prominent name changes. |
Numerology was the first metaphysical science given unto man by God himself according to the Bible. It was through Numerology that man received the other metaphysical sciences. Genesis 3:1 states "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made." The question that must be asked is why was that. The answer lies in Genesis 2:19 that states "Now the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof." |
Because of this the man was no longer provided for as Genesis 3:22-23 states, "And the LORD God said, Behold the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the LORD God sent him from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken." Nonetheless, the key to remember is that the metaphysical wisdom that was obtained by man was never taken back. The man was only removed from having access to the tree of life not the tree of knowledge. |
Did not God forbid the use of Numerology and other metaphysical knowledge? |
Revelation 13:11-18 talks about the beast on the Earth. Verse 18 states "Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six." |
Daniel 9:2 states "In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolation of Jerusalem." |
Psalm 90:12 states "So teach us to number our days, That we may apply our hearts unto wisdom." |
In Psalm 147:4 it is also stated "He telleth the number of the stars; He calleth them all by their names." In addition, in Isaiah 40:26 it is stated "That bringeth out their host by number: He calleth them all by names." |
Job 1:1 states "There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God and eschewed evil." Later God is questioning this righteous man about the heavenly setup. Job 38:31-33 states "Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? Or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? Canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?. |
Psalm 19 1:4 states "The heavens declare the glory of God. And the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, And night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, Where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world." |
Proverbs 21:20 states "There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise." |
Proverbs 23:23 states "Buy the truth, and sell it not; Also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding." |
Luke 16:8 states "And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light." |
Hosea 4:6 states "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, Because thou has rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou will be no priest to me." |
About Joseph Genesis 44:5 states "Is not this it in which my lord drinketh, and whereby indeed he divineth?" Genesis 44:15 states "And Joseph said unto them, What deed is this that ye have done? wot ye not that such a man as I can certainly divine?" |
In reference to David, 1 Samuel 30:7 states "And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. And David inquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all." |
1 Kings 3:3 states "Solomon showed his love for the LORD by walking according to the statutes of his father David, except that he offered sacrifices and burned incense on the high places." 1 Kings 4:29 states "God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore." |
2 Chronicles 1:6-7 states "And Solomon went up thither to the brazen altar before the LORD, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it. In that night God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee." |
In reference to Elisha the prophet, 2 Kings 4:22-23 states "And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again. And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well." |
Daniel was the master of the magicians as Daniel 4:9 states "O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof." |
Matthews 2:1 states "Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men (Magi) from the east to Jerusalem." |
Jesus disciples cast lots to divine the next apostle after Judas. Acts 1:24 states "And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these thou hast chosen, that he may take part in this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. And they gave forth their lots, and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.." |
Acts 7:22 states "And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and deeds." |
Hebrews 7:1-3 states "For this Melchisedic (Jupiter or Tzadiquel in Hebrew), king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God." |
God has a problem with man worshipping the form (created) instead of the Creator. He has a problem with man worshipping something that has already been given unto him. |
Deuteronomy 4:15-19 states "Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the Lord spake unto you at Horeb out of the midst of the fire: lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female, the likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air, the likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth: and lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the Lord thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven." |
